The Windeyer Gold and Fleece Hotel
Don’t want to cook? A classic pub meal at the Gold & Fleece Hotel is a must. The pub, located just 250 metres from the Red Rattler, offers hearty country meals (Thursday and Friday night/Saturday & Sunday lunch & dinner) and a quintessential country pub experience.
The Bushlands Caravan Park General Store
The general store is located just 280 metres from the Red Rattler (next to the pub) and has all your basic needs. Open early until 6pm.
Gold Fossicking
Windeyer is a well-known gold mining area, dating back to the 1850s. Feeling lucky? You’ll find a couple of gold pans & a small pick at the Red Rattler, so you can try your luck looking for gold in the creek opposite our driveway.
Mudgee Observatory

Mudgee is a renowned wine region, with over 30 cellar doors offering diverse and delicious wines. Nature, heritage and culture can be found down every street, along with art, local produce, and classic country pubs, restaurants and cafés.
